Trelleborg genomgår en historisk omvandling från en traditionell hamnstad till att också vara en modern och attraktiv kuststad, där staden och havet åter möts. Med Kuststad Trelleborg, det största stadsutvecklingsprojektet i kommunens historia, skapas en ny framtid för både invånare och besökare.
Projektet innebär satsningar på drygt 7 000 nya bostäder i havsnära läge, förbättrad infrastruktur och ökade möjligheter för näringslivsutveckling.
Utbyggnaden av Trelleborgs hamn i öster är klar. För att hela hamnverksamheten ska kunna flytta dit krävs en ny ringväg runt staden och en östlig hamninfart. När dessa är på plats leds den tunga trafiken bort från centrum, samtidigt som mark frigörs för nya stadsdelar – som Sjöstaden och delar av Västra Sjöstaden.
I anslutning till ringvägen utvecklas Business Center Trelleborg – ett nytt verksamhetsområde med fokus på logistik, handel och moderna multimodala transportlösningar.
Som en del av Kuststad Trelleborg planeras en lång sandstrand och en naturvall med sanddyner och gångstigar. Dessa skyddar inte bara mot framtida höjda havsnivåer utan skapar också nya attraktiva grönområden med hög biologisk mångfald och möjligheter för rekreation.
Kuststad Trelleborg tar vara på stadens strategiska läge och utvecklar dess fulla potential. Här möts hållbarhet, innovation och livskvalitet i en stadsutveckling som för Trelleborg närmare havet igen.
